It absolutely amazes me that God is a God of timing! Although He’s not subject to time, He works within time to fulfill His purposes. There was a “right time” for Jesus to be sent to the earth. Although He existed in eternity, God’s wisdom sent Him at just the right time. He was not pressured by what He saw in history, or by what He witnessed of mankind, But had a time set for Christ’s birth into our world.

Other translations say “at the fullness of time” or “when the time came to completion” God Sent His Son. This tells me, that God is patient, has a plan and His plan is perfect. Therefore His timing is perfect. Jesus could not have come to earth at any other time, but the “right” time.

I love this!

I’ve learned a tremendous lesson about God’s timing. First, it’s the best time! Any other time will not do, but God’s time is what is best for me. This lesson has taught me to patiently wait, not with fear or anxiety, but with trust. If God wants what’s best for me, then His timing is what’s best. Oh, I’ve tried to put my own timing into motion and it always ends in a mess. But God is merciful and is there to set me back in a good place.

The second lesson I’ve learned about God’s timing is that God is on top of things. He’s not ignoring my prayers or cries. He hasn’t forgotten about me and my situation. He knows full well when the answer should come and He will not delay because His timing is perfect.

And lastly, God’s timing has taught me not to fret or be anxious. There is plenty in this world to fret about; to be anxious about, but learning that God will not forsake me causes me to rest and be still.

Our world was in a dark place, full of sorrow and sin, yet God had a “time” for Jesus to be born. His parents had to first be born and in place. Even Mary had to be in a place in her spirit where she would receive and embrace God’s Word to her. Even God’s enemies had to show up to challenge the plan for it to work in the way that God had purposed. When you figure all the details and realize that God was on top of every one, you can be at peace. Rest assured this Christmas season, God knows where you are, what’s going on and at just the right time, salvation is coming!!!
