A lullaby of faith
In God alone
Not my striving
Resting in His love, my forever home

I don’t want to be somebody
I long to hold somebody close
Speak words to my beloved
That kindle his gallant heart

I don’t want to gain the world
Whose fare lulls my soul
Or sacrifice love on the altar of greed
Nor lose my heart to devouring lust

I want to see a little deeper
Look a little further
Not be blinded by the rush
But sit a while
To breathe it in
And breathe it in again

Take me back to simply, daughter
Running, jumping into Safe arms
Secure in love that receives me
Thriving from that place of love.

To lose myself in giving
What really matters
What really brings life
What truly brings joy
Not lured by hollow promise
Of trinkets fueled by pride

But Life that wakes you up
Makes you weep
Makes you groan
Makes you feel something
Makes you wonder
Makes you know, you’re not alone

So permit me, sit across the table
Cultivate the garden of pure lives
Free from lust and free from striving
To give all that really matters
