To see his stature

His confidence

His arrogance

His certainty

Direction

Ruled with an iron hand

Stony heart

Maybe he was pretend

Maybe he was hollow

His conscience wounded

Unable to grasp

Unable to feel

Pitiable now

Not the giant who once loomed

Nor the terror

Just contrite

Soft

Full of regret
